A few days after Valentines day I found a note addressed to my oldest daughter (age 9). It read, Dear A, I have a crush on you. A BIG one. Love, boy
As adorable as this was I knew it was a fake as both names were spelled wrong. Further investigation (and a handwriting analysis) revealed her 7 year old sister as the author. Both girls had a good laugh, I was happy they could have a good natured tease, Younger sister even got the right boy!
DS6 & DD8 notice a frosted over car for what appears to be the first time? DS - We need some kind of shelter for it. DD - Nah, we just need a credit card to scrape off the frost.
DS6 walks in to the kitchen and proudly displays a penny he had found. As fas as pennies go this was an exceptional find. It was bright and shiny. "Let's play heads or tails." I choose heads. "It's tails, you lose! Pick again." I choose tails. "Pick heads this time, there is a chance it will be heads" (I surpress my laughter and choose heads) "Tails again." I say, "Heads I win, Tails you lose." "No Mama, that's not fair." (its not, but does he know why?) "And why not?" "Because I won the last round so I should choose this time, the winner gets the next pick."
I tell my kiddos it's time to pick UP the living room, they head for the lego tub. "NO UP!" my 2 year old yells as he lays on the LEGOS to protect them.
DD8 came home a bit discouraged. She and her best friend were to be partners on a project. Until a cute boy that bff has a crush on asked her to be his partner. My sweet girl got ditched for a boy...I told her it was better than being ditched for another girl.

Driving along a country road with DD10
ReplyDeleteMe- "Wow! look at that cow's udder. It is so full, must be milking time!"
DD - "I bet she's uncomfortable"
makes me think she is paying attention every now and again.
